Netflix Inclined to Make Stranger Things Game With or Without Telltale

Netflix and Telltale had previously agreed to work on Stranger Things game. This was before the debacle that happened couple of days ago at Telltale. The studio is left down to 25 number of employees only. The studio was in the final season of The Walking Dead game when it decided the layoffs.

The studio remained silent on future prospects of its future projects, However, US Gamer has cited anonymous sources saying that The Walking Dead: The Final Season has also been allegedly cancelled along with the second season of The Wolf Among Us and the debut season of Stranger Things.

Recently, Netflix has said that it is inclined towards making Stranger Things game with or without Telltale. Further more, Netflix said to Polygon that:

We are saddened by news about Telltale Games. They developed many great games in the past and left an indelible mark in the industry. Minecraft: Story Mode is still moving forward as planned. We are in the process of evaluating other options for bringing the Stranger Things universe to life in an interactive medium

The serious stance of Netflix narrates that it will bring the Stranger Things game into reality, be it Telltale games or other studio.

Stranger Things

The Walking Dead: The Final Season’s first episode released on the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC on August 14, 2018. The second episode “Suffer the Children” is to launch on August 25, 2018.

The third episode was supposed to show up on November 6, 2018 and a fourth was set for December 18, 2018. However, we are not clear whether or not the studio with only 25 number of employee will bring in the complete season to audience.

However, recently, Cory Barlog the creative director at Santa Monica Studio had series of tweets with Telltale games. Cory left a message that the he and fans of The Walking Dead franchise will wait no matter how long till Telltale finishes what it started.
