Update your Drivers
The most errors players encounter while trying to run their games are because of outdated drivers. You never know that even the device least concerned with running the game but running on outdated drivers could be messing up your game. Before you try to run NFS Heat, make sure that all of the drivers especially your audio, GPU and chipset and fully updated to their latest versions. Both AMD and Nvidia release graphical patches pertaining to specific games so your game errors might disappear by simply updating the graphics of your gaming machine.
Error Fixes
Players have been encountering a lot of errors and glitches while playing their games. Some of the most common errors include DirectX Error, FPS Drops and Game Stuttering, Black Screen with audio and No Audio in their game. We have detailed the possible workarounds for nearly all of the errors below.
No Audio Fix
If your game has no audio or has partial audio meaning that some sections of the game have audio while cutscenes or different elements do not have any audio, it means that your audio driver is misconfigured or is outdated. Try updating your audio driver however if the problem still persists, disable Windows Sonic for Headphones. This has been working for a lot of players around the world.
You can also check the configuration of your sound in the Control Panel to ensure that the correct settings are in place. Sometimes the audio setting might be out of place which might be causing you to hear only partial sounds of the game. Checking the audio control panel and updating your audio driver will fix most of your audio problems automatically.
DirectX Error Fix
This error is common for players who are running older GPUs that do not support the new Windows 10 DirectX. However, players running newer GPUs are also reporting this error and hence it is not just limited to older GPU users. This is basically a technical problem and will only be properly fixed until EA rolls out a patch with the fix. However, all is not doom and gloom for you because you can still try a workaround that has been working for a majority of players out there.
Start the game and head straight to the graphics settings. You need to make sure here that your game is not running at its maximum settings even if your PC is completely capable of running the game at maximum graphics. Lower down a bit and then quit the game. Go to Nvidia Control Panel, click Manage 3D Settings and then choose Program Settings. Choose NFS Heat and the set Vertical Sync to ‘Adaptive Half Refresh-Rate’. Now go back to the game and graphics settings. Disable the V. Sync and now the game will run at flat 30FPS.
Launch Crash Fix
Many players are unable to even run NFS Heat at all as their game crashes right at the start of launching. Since a lot of factors could be in play in this crash, we have a few workarounds that you can try to fix your launch crash for NFS Heat.
Try disabling your anti-virus software. Sometimes the anti-virus starts scanning the exe file as soon as you run the game which causes abnormal behavior and ultimately crashes the game. Also add the game in your Firewall to avoid that annoying Firewall permission screen which could cause crashes in extreme situations as well.
Sometimes your system does not have enough free memory to boot up the game and in return, ends up crashing the system. If you have been using your system for a long time, close all apps and restart your system and then directly launch the game. Make sure that no extra apps are running in the background which could quickly consume a large amount of memory and cause the game to crash abnormally.
Disable any third-party software that came with your GPUs until official patches arrive from the GPU makers or EA which ensure that the drivers are fully compatible with the game. If they are crashing your game, disabling them will allow you to play the game just fine.
Try running the game as an administrator. This might be a last resort fix if you are still unable to run the game after the above-mentioned fixes but depending on your Windows installation, you might not have access to run the game right from the start so to ensure that you have the proper access, right-click on the .exe and click Properties. When the screen opens up, click the option to run the program as an administrator.
Black Screen with Audio
Another error that players experiencing with NFS Heat includes a black screen with running audio in the background. A lot of players are currently experiencing this error. You can easily fix this error by forcing the game to run in Windowed mode and then heading to settings and switching back to full screen.
To do so, after running the game, press Alt+Enter. This will make the game run in Windowed mode. After the game has entered in Windowed mode, you should start seeing the game as well. Now head back to settings and switch back to Full Screen to play the game. This should work for you.
There is another trick that seems to be working for players who Overclock their GPUs or their GPUs might be overclocked from the factory. If you are not getting any display, simply switch to the default speed settings and you should be able to make the game work normally.
Stuttering or Random FPS Drops
Even the console players are experiencing stuttering and FPS drops let alone PC players. Unless EA launched an official patch, you can try to resolve this annoying problem by making sure that your HDDs are in good condition. If you can, try to install the game in an SSD which will speed up the background loading of the game thus improving the framerate of the game.
If your computer is running a lot of programs in the background, chances are that your CPU and memory is having a hard time allocating enough resources at all time to the game which is causing frames to drop at random positions. Before running the game, ensure that all extra software and programs are shut down to ensure that maximum resources are available for the game to run.
Nvidia players can head to Nvidia Control Panel and change the mode for NFS Heat from Power Management Mode to Prefer Maximum Performance as well. In the GTX 10 series, this can be done by setting the Vertical Sync to Fast however you must disable the in-game V-Sync to make it work properly. Also, the game must be running in full screen.
