Two Star Games and Vicarious Publishing has announced that their brand new psychological horror title My Beautiful Paper Smile will launch into Early Access later this Spring. The project will be released exclusively on Steam for the time being where players will be able to jump in with the developers and help them shape the final form of the game as development continues.
My Beautiful Smile is a dark and dreamlike horror adventure that is set inside a world of strange science, spirits and dark obsession. Players will get to explore this nightmare world as one of the ‘Joyous’. Joyous are marked children who are raised in an underground facility and are trained to be perfect. If these children fail in their tasks, they are harshly punished by the authorities.
Two Star Games details that My Beautiful Paper Smile focuses on psychological horror rather than on jump scares and gore. It is made to ‘worm its way under the player’s skin’. The whole world is made to look like it is a pencil-sketch and everything in this world cultivates a sense of unease. As the story progresses, players get to know more and darker truths of this pencil-sketch world.
