Survival Horror Game Monstrum Getting Loose Physically on Consoles Next Month

Monstrum

SOEDESCO has announced that the physical release on consoles of its survival horror game Monstrum is slated for next month. Monstrum will release on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One on September 25, 2020, and will join the already released digital copy of the title. The digital version of the game was released back on May 22, 2020. Fans looking forward to adding the game physically to their collection can do so next month.

Monstrum is set aboard an abandoned vessel where your chilling surroundings will keep you on the edge as you try to avoid the terrifying monstrosities hunting you down.  The old ship and its cracked floors, misty hallways, and abandoned rooms are everything but pleasant. Your goal is to scavenge that ship for clues and tools and plan your escape route before the monstrosities can take you down. This is made further complicated as every time you begin the game; the level is procedurally-generated.

You will find different rooms, new items, switches, and even a new monster every time you start the game. There are three different monsters in the game and each time, you will come across a different monster. Each monster also comes with its own unique attributes so your strategy will also need to change every time you play the game. You must find their weaknesses and exploit them in order to outsmart them and escape from the ship. Death is also permanent in the game.

Key features of Monstrum include:

  • Survive a changing environment and monster with each new game
  • Use whatever you can find to outwit the monsters and escape the ship
  • Hide, distract, and run, but be careful not to fall into the numerous traps
  • Death is permanent.  Try to stay alive or you’ll have to start all over again
