In recent news, Metro Exodus is coming on PC exclusively through Epic Games Store. This was revealed by both Epic Games and Deep Silver today. This makes Metro Exodus the second AAA game to completely skip Steam and come out on Epic Games.

If you have already pre-ordered the game on Steam, you do not have to worry about anything. Deep Silver has announced that all Metro Exodus orders placed on Steam will be honored and players will receive their copies on Steam like ordered. This was announced by Epic and Deep Silver both as well.

Epic’s official words on Steam pre-orders were

Any customer with an outstanding preorder for Metro Exodus on PC through any digital retailer will receive their game as expected.

However, this is not the only surprise with this news. Metro Exodus was for $60 on Steam but now it will be for $50 only on Epic Games Store which is a complete $10 less than the previous retail price. Deep Silver’s CEO Klemens Kundratitz said on this matter

We are delighted to partner with Epic to bring the digital PC version of Metro Exodus to market. Epic’s generous revenue terms are a game changer that will allow publishers to invest more into content creation, or pass on savings to the players. By teaming up with Epic we will be able to invest more into the future of Metro and our ongoing partnership with series developer 4A Games, to the benefit of our Metro fans.

This statement could mean that the lower price on Steam is because of Epic Games 88% revenue share given to developer policy. Deep Silver has also announced that all previous Metro games are also making their way to Epic Games Store in 2019.

Epic Games will offer both the regular edition and the gold edition of Metro Exodus. Players can head to the Epic Games Store and pre-order Metro Exodus from there since Steam pre-orders will soon stop and only past pre-orders will be entertained.

Metro Exodus is launching on February 15 on PS4, Xbox One and PC via Epic Games Store.
