This 007 First Light Guide details how you can steal the field equipment and proceed further with the mission. One of the objectives in Q’s lab requires you to obtain Q’s watch, unlock a selection of gadgets, and collect a new service pistol before leaving the facility. While the mission involves several steps and a few puzzles, everything can be completed in a straightforward manner.
Steal Field Equipment Guide – 007 First Light
The first challenge is gaining access to the stress testing area where Q’s watch is located. Unfortunately, the security scanner won’t recognize your fingerprint, so you will need to reconstruct Q’s fingerprint using traces he has left behind.

The first partial print can be found on a drinking glass in the laboratory. Inspect the glass and collect the fingerprint sample from it. Since this only provides part of the print, you will need two more samples before you can proceed.

For the second fingerprint, head to the elevator that Q recently used. Examine the elevator button and lift the print left behind there.

After that, move toward the vehicle testing section of the lab. Interact with the nearby testing device and collect the final fingerprint sample. With all three pieces gathered, you will have a complete fingerprint ready for use.

Unlocking the Stress Testing Room
Return to the stress testing console and use the completed fingerprint to bypass the security system. Once the door opens, enter the room and collect Q’s watch from the table.
Taking the watch immediately triggers a lockdown, sealing you inside the chamber. To escape, you will need to make your way out.
Escaping the Locked Chamber
Begin by activating the furnace controls. This starts the heating process, but additional steps are required before it becomes useful.

Nearby, you will find a movable laser system. Rotate and aim the laser toward the furnace safety mechanism and destroy it.

With the safety system disabled, head toward the upper level of the room using the ladder. At the top, interact with the valve controls. This action forces the furnace door open and creates a fire emergency. As a result, the emergency exit on the lower floor unlocks, providing a route out of the chamber.
Drop back down and make your way through the newly opened exit to continue the mission.
Optional Collectible and Lock Code
While inside the stress testing room, there is also an optional collectible available. A locked display case can be opened using a code connected to the vehicle being tested in the chamber.

The code is “4397”, which is displayed on the test vehicle itself. Entering this code into the nearby keypad unlocks the display case and allows you to claim the collectible before leaving.
Choosing Your Gadgets
After escaping the chamber, continue into the next area where you will find the gadget station. This is where you can select your equipment for future missions.
Browse through the available options and choose whichever gadgets fit your preferred playstyle. Once you have made your selections, continue through the nearby exit.
Getting the New Service Pistol
Your next destination is the armory. Go right and follow the corridor past the gym area until you reach the locked armory door. Like several other areas in the facility, this door is protected by a keypad.

To discover the code, visit the nearby shooting range. Inside, you will find information explaining that the armory code matches the current high score displayed there. The score shown is “1324”.
Return to the armory keypad and enter “1324” to unlock the door.
Inside the armory, you will find a few useful items. One of them is a gadget testing keycard, which can be picked up if you want it. More importantly, the room contains your new service pistol, located along the left side of the armory. Collect the weapon to complete the objective and prepare for the next stage of the game.
Leaving MI6
With Q’s watch secured, your gadgets selected, and the new service pistol collected, all major objectives in this section are complete. You can now leave MI6.
