The sea floor starts to look different, and the plants in the area become more unusual compared to the safer starting biome. Along the way, you may also run into parts of an infection-related objective, since that mission seems to pass close to this region.
Keep moving northwest until large purple plants start appearing around massive rock structures. That is the main sign you are in the correct location. Around these cliffs and plant-covered areas, you will spot small floating growths attached to thin stems. They look almost like glowing fruit or flowers hanging in the water. These are actually the Necrolei Cysts.
To collect the resource, simply use your harvesting tool on the top section of the plant. Hitting the flower-like part will give you the material you need. Several of these plants can usually be found spread around the nearby cliffs, so once you locate one group, you can gather plenty more in the same area without searching too far.
