Classic arcade-style game Horizon Chase Turbo has its Summer Vibes DLC available right now, after being featured as a PlayStation Plus free game this month for July. The Summer Vibes is available right now on the PlayStation 4, while a Nintendo Switch release date has yet to be confirmed.
The new DLC brings in an original sports convertible car that you can drive in a highway next to a beach. The car has 6 skins that you can choose from, and 12 remixed tracks from the mainline campaign. The Summer Vibes DLC will cost you $2, which is quite the deal considering that the game already comes free for PlayStation Plus members.
Horizon Chase Turbo aims to capture the heart and thrill of 80s and 90s classic arcade racers in a modern, upgraded chassis. Summer Vibes adds a balmy new set of content to the game, including 12 remixed races based in the main campaign, one new car with five unlockable skins, and a leaderboard for each race.
The new sports convertible car is called breeze which comes with 6 unique skins that you can apply to it. To unlock skins for the car, you need to achieve at least a podium or come third for the next skin to unlock.
Horizon Chase Turbo was originally a mobile game that was met with a lot of positive reception at launch. The developers then worked on bringing the game to consoles, and have just started to bring in its DLC. As you can see from the trailer above, the game features a retro look but does even better in making the vehicles, the environment, and the tracks look stylish.
When we say retro, we also mean the synth-heavy music that accompanies the players and their vehicles while they speed on the highways. The old school vibe of the game makes it quite interesting and comes with various different game modes, local split-screen where you can add up to four players together.
