Hardcore Freerunning Game Rooftops & Alleys Showcases Gameplay in Latest Action-Packed Trailer

Rooftops & Alleys

MLMedia and Shine Group have announced a brand-new partnership with the new indie publisher Radical Theory for the upcoming hardcore freerunning game Rooftops & Alleys. After spending 1 year in Early Access and receiving numerous updates, Rooftops & Alleys is now ready for its 1.0 release on June 17, 2025. Created by solo developer Michel Losch, the hardcore freerunning game managed to sell over 200,000 copies so far, and it is currently sitting with an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating on Steam. To ensure that the game reaches a wider audience, the 1.0 launch is also accompanied by a PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S release.

The developer details that while parkour and freerunning games are considered the same, both of them are actually very different from each other. The core parkour requires you to reach from Point A to Point B in the fastest way possible, and on the other hand, freerunning requires you to be creative and stylish about it. It is all about style, flow, and trick-madness. Rooftops & Alleys combines both of these genres to create a unique yet engaging gameplay style with both solo and multiplayer options.

It is a relatively easier game if you just want to pick it up and play, but if you want to master it, it will need dedication. You will find time trials and trick challenges in the game, which will allow you to improve your skill level. The game offers six different maps at launch, and each map features a unique style, environment, and set of challenges. Coupled with intuitive controls, you will have plenty of tricks and moves at your disposal, along with endless combo possibilities. Landing successful combos will increase your adrenaline meter, which boosts your speed at will or stalls your combo meter, preventing it from going down, resulting in massive scores.

If you complete challenges, you will earn feathers, which unlock over 100 different customization items for you and your pigeon. The built-in progression system keeps track of everything that you do in the game and helps you to unlock new gear and challenges. If you want a change of pace, you can also become a pigeon in the game, which allows you to use the free cam feature. In this mode, you can explore the map and mark sessions, drop pins, and chill around. The game supports multiplayer as you can go online and hang out in freeroam multiplayer or take part in different events like TAG, Capture the Flag, or Tricks Battle. A dedicated photo mode ensures that you capture all your favourite moments in the game with different features like The Doll Mode and a lot more.

Key features of the game include:

  • Explore huge, unique, vertical parkour environments
  • Discover, learn, and master every trick, move, and their endless combo possibilities
  • Call on your pigeon to discover new areas, fast travel, and plan your routes
  • Tons of challenges and game modes — solo or with friends (TAG, Capture the Flag, Trick Battles, and more)
  • Unlock over 100 customization options for yourself and your pigeon
