Developers Spiders Games and the publisher Focus Home Interactive have announced the release date of the upcoming fantasy RPG Greedfall. The release date is set for September 10, 2019, and will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
The game is an open-world fantasy RPG from an indie developer Spiders Games. Players will set out in a dying old world with declining population plagued by an unrelenting disease. The only hope left for humanity is a cure that can be found on the island of Teer Fradee.
You will have to join your cousin, along with the governor Constantin D’Orsay, along with various other faction members that come with their own narratives and hidden agendas. It is up to you to decide if you want to involve yourself in the new colonies or join the struggle with the natives for liberty.
As you can guess, player choice is heavily reliant on the outcome of the game. Choices will help you build friendships, break up alliances and resolve conflicts of groups for a better future together. The exploration feature of the game will allow you to set out on the island to discover lost secrets and rely on your skills.
The developers also revealed that the team is already working on post-launch content for the game. The game description has already stated at the Steam Store that the Adventurer’s Gear DLC will include the following:
- The Explorer’s Outfit, which is said to bring its lucky wearer great fortune. The complete outfit will consist of “the Hat of the Discoverer, Doublet of Good Fortune, Gloves of the Craftmaster and Weighted-heel Boots.”
- The Rapier of the Alchemist, a specially crafted weapon able to inflict great damage on enemies, as the blade has the ability to ignite when drawn. It is said to be created by Al Saad, a master alchemist.
- The Wild Board Ivory Rifle, a short-range weapon capable of halting a charging boar.
The DLC can be bought separately later when it becomes available, or you can guarantee it right now by pre-ordering Greedfall. The game will cost you $49.99 and is available for pre-order right now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
