Indie publisher Fellow Traveller and developer Silverstring Media have announced the release date of Glitchhikers: The Spaces Between. The game is all set to launch on March 31st, 2022 on Stea, Humble, GOG, and Epic.
This is the first major title from Silverstring Media who is best known for working on a number of critically acclaimed indie games including Celeste, Wandersong, Manifold Garden, and Where the Water Tastes Like Wine.
The non-linear narrative game Glitchhikers: The Spaces Between encourages a deep dive into our own self-awareness with four different journeys that reflect everyday beauty through surreal landscapes, thought-provoking discussions with strangers, and the meaningful revelations to be found in our own lives.
Glitchhikers: The Spaces Between will take you on a journey through liminal spaces, provoking introspective questioning as reality is merged with the strange. Whether you are driving a car down a lonely highway late at night or navigating a near-empty commuter train or winding park paths, the surreal landscapes and events experienced in Glitchhikers: The Spaces Between will give meaning to time and space.
Inspired by long travel and the stream of consciousness it fosters, Glitchhikers asks you to look inward. Find the answers to your questions, and question the answers you receive. Ruminate on life, the universe, our place and purpose in it. Voyage through a freeform narrative experience, converse with the endless inevitability, and explore the cosmic, hopeful world you find yourself in.
Glitchhikers is a follow up toe the critically praised short game released back in 2014, and is an expanded experience, reborn, and reimagined. The game both expands and dives deeper into the idea behind the original Glitchhikers, to fully realise the concepts and present a polished and fleshed out experience to a new generation of players.
