11 bit studios has announced that the final expansion for their brilliant survival game Frostpunk ‘On the Edge’ is releasing next month. Frostpunk: On the Edge will release on PC on August 20, 2020, while the console versions will receive the DLC a little later. The PC release will be simultaneous across all platforms including Steam, GOG, and Humble Store. A console release date will be announced later.
Accompanying the new announcement is a brand new trailer along with new screenshots of the third and final expansion of Frostpunk. Frostpunk is one of the most unique and brutal survival games that we’ve played in recent times. We earlier reviewed its previous expansion The Last Autumn which was essentially a prequel to the main game and it has no frost but even without the frost, it was challenging, tough, and amazing. The new expansion On the Edge starts right where the story of the base game ends. The story begins when a scouting party is sent from New London to set up an outpost and a steady chain of supplies at an army warehouse. You will take command of this outpost and try to maintain it as well as possible. The food will come from New London and you will be required to return the favors as well. There will no generator in this new place but that did not seem to make the game any easier in The Last Autumn.

Key features of Frostpunk: On the Edge include:

Additional details about the expansion will be shared in the coming days however you can head over to Steam right now and add the game to your Wishlist. The expansion will be part of the game’s Season Pass so if you own the Season Pass for Frostpunk, you are all set to play it when it comes out.
