SNK has announced that all pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch version of their upcoming title Samurai Shodown will get a free copy of Samurai Shodown 2. The pre-order bonus Samurai Shodown 2 is the neo-geo pocket version of the game and will please all fans of the retro gaming and of the original release of the game.
Samurai Shodown was nominated for the Best Fighting Game award at The Game Awards 2019 and it is now heading to Nintendo Switch next year. The Nintendo Switch version is arriving after nearly 11 years of the previous release. The Nintendo Switch version of the game will feature 13 returning characters from the original game along with 3 brand new fighters. The latest version in the Samurai Showdown franchise is set 1 year before the events of the original Samurai Shodown.
Fans of the series would be glad to see some of the fan-favorite concepts such as Rage gauge, Lighting Blade and Super Special Moves make their return to the franchise. These classic Samurai Shodown concepts will allow players to turn the tables of the battles moments from death. Check out the announcement trailer of the game below.
The Nintendo Switch version of Samurai Shodown will also come with Hisame Shizumaru from Samurai Shodown III as a free DLC character. He will join other fan-favorite characters in the game such as Rimururu, Kibikiri Basara, Kazuki Kazama, and Wan Fu. Pre-orders on Nintendo Switch eStore are now live and every player who pre-orders the game can nab a free copy of the neo-geo version of Samurai Showdown 2 – Pocket Fighting Series.
The developers are adding all of the added functionality of Nintendo Switch in the game to allow the players to play the game in any way they want. Samurai Shodown will support Table Top mode, Handheld mode and Docked mode. Players can also give the second Joy-Con to another player in Table Top to jump in quick friendly Vs. battles on the go, anywhere they like. During Handheld and Docked mode, players can head online and fight any player from around the world.
