Forza Horizon 5 PS5

Developer Playground Games and publisher Xbox Game Studios have announced the Forza Horizon 5 PS5 release date. Forza Horizon 5 will be released on PS5 on April 29, 2025, and the release will also bring Forza Horizon 5’s biggest update to change. The new update is focused more on giving players a chance to experience the past Festival Playlist experiences in a new way called Horizon Realms. The Horizon Realms will feature 12 Evolving World locations, out of which 11 locations are from the already released timed locations, along with a brand-new Stadium Track in the upcoming update.

The PS5 version of Forza Horizon 5 will feature multiple graphics modes similar to that on Xbox Series X|S. The Performance mode will offer 60 FPS with reduced visual fidelity, while the Quality mode will offer 30 FPS with increased visual fidelity. The game will get a performance boost on the PS5 Pro thanks to its increased hardware power. The Performance mode will offer increased visual fidelity while Quality Mode will add ray-traced reflections to Races and Free Roam.

Pre-orders for PS5 are now live, and you can choose from three different versions:

  • Standard Edition – Base Game with all free updates and DLC
  • Deluxe Edition – Base Game with all free updates, DLC, and Car Pass
  • Premium Edition – Base Game with all free updates, DLC, along with paid DLC like Car Pass, Expansions including Rally Adventure, Hot Wheels, VIP Membership and extra perks included in the Welcome Pack along with an Early Access to the game starting April 25, 2025. All pre-orders will receive bonus in-game content, including:
    • Forza Horizon 5’s cover car: the 2021 Mercedes-AMG Mercedes-AMG ONE
    • 5,000 #Forzathon Points, which can be used to buy cars and cosmetics
    • 5 Backstage Passes, which can be used to unlock any hard-to-find car available in the Backstage Shop

While no new Car Pack was released for the past few months, Playground Games has also announced a brand-new Car Pack for Forza Horizon 5 called the Nissan Retro Rides Car Pack. This pack celebrates Nissan’s heritage spanning different decades. It includes:

  • 1989 Nissan Pao
  • 1991 Nissan Figaro
  • 1989 Nissan S-Cargo

The new Car Pack will become available for purchase for Xbox, PC, and PS5 players starting April 25, 2025, for just $4.99. If you already own the Ultimate Car Pack Collection, you will receive the new Car Pack for free.

Coming back to the new content announced for Forza Horizon 5 for all players, Horizon Realms will be the biggest update for the game to date. Since the game’s release back in 2021, the game has received different Evolving World updates, which brought new changes to Mexico based on a specific theme. With Horizon Realms, all of these Evolving World updates will become playable on demand by everyone. Including the new Stadium Track, the previously released locations include:

  • Stunt Park
  • Ice Rink
  • Oval Track
  • Summer Party
  • Neon Airstrip
  • Día de Muertos
  • Winter Wonderland
  • Lunar Drift Arena
  • Retrowave Highway
  • Cars and Coffee
  • Stadium Maze

There are two different ways to dive into Horizon Realms. The first one is called Skill Mode, where you will enter one of the Horizon Realms and try to bank as much Skill Score as possible. Every Evolving World will have its own Skill Score leaderboard along with a total Skill Score leaderboard. Earning enough Skill Score in them will unlock new player Badges unique to Horizon Realms. The second one is called Free Mode, and it removes leaderboards and everything else to give you the freedom to explore the Evolving World on your own terms.

A new type of Horizon Stadium Circuit is arriving in Forza Horizon 5, which features corners, bends, and racing decorations. This will become a permanent race route in the game, and it comes with its event icon and Rivals leaderboards. A dedicated Accolade Tab for Horizon Realms is also coming to Forza Horizon 5, featuring over 60+ accolades. While completing the new accolades, you can also complete previously locked accolades belonging to returning Evolving Worlds. Completing these accolades will allow you to unlock 12 new badges, and unlocking the accolades will grant players Forzathon Pints.
