Netflix Confirms Fortnite and Stranger Things Crossover Event Coming Soon

Fortnite Season X Blockbuster Challenges

It seems like Netflix and Epic Games have planned something very interesting for fans of both the Stranger Things show and Fortnite. Netflix has revealed at E3 that the company’s future plans include a partnership with Epic Games for a Stranger Things and Fortnite crossover event

Netflix’s Director of Interactive Games Chris Lee shared some of the plans that the company has for the future,

We’ve actually been really busy over the past year making new friends. We have a number of projects coming out,” Lee said. “You guys may have seen in Fortnite Season 9 we had a Scoops Ahoy from Stranger Things show up in the mall there … so there’s a bit more behind that in a few weeks.

Currently, we are unsure what the crossover event will be. There can be a Stranger Things themed limited time mode or a cosmetic bundle that we can see in the free to play battle royale game. However, a gameplay crossover would be quite interesting, just as we have seen with the Avengers crossover event where we could play as the Avengers characters and even Thanos.

The confirmation is not surprising, especially for players of Fortnite who have been spotting hints in the game. At the start of Season 9, there was a new location added to the map called Mega Mall. This location also has an ice cream parlor called ‘Scoops Ahoy.’ Fans of the Netflix show immediately recognized the shop from the show and there were rumors of a crossover event that might come soon.

Now that it has been confirmed by Netflix, it’s only a matter of time that the event would be announced in the coming days. It is also highly likely that the event would be happening in the current Season 9 of Fortnite, especially after the hints that players have been spotting in the game.
