It looks like the Fortnite and Stranger Things event is finally making its way into the game after last month’s speculation about the crossover event. Many Fortnite players have now spotted the Upside Down portals appearing in the Mega Mall location of the map.
If you want to look for the portals yourself, head to Mega Mall and you will spot that the area is being taken over by portals that look similar to the ones in Stranger Things. These portals are gateways to the parallel universe and are complete with floating pores. Walk into these and you will be transported to some other part of the mall. It’s safe to say something bigger is definitely on the cards soon.
The third season of Stranger Things is releasing tomorrow on July 4, and there might be something related to the show coming to the game as well. You might have to be present at Mega Mall to witness what lies ahead.
While the portals have just started appearing today, the Stranger Things crossover was already in the plan by Epic Games and Netflix. The game already has an ice cream shop called Scoops Ahoy! which also comes from the tv show itself.
The recent crossover in the games included Avengers and John Wick. All these events came with their own content that featured special modes, skins, accessories, and challenges. The Avengers crossover event allowed players to play as their favorite Marvel superhero that included Captain America, Ironman, Thor, and Hawkeye.
We expect similar content heading to Fortnite in relation to Stranger Things. Challenges could dish out Stranger Things themed rewards and banners. As mentioned before, season 3 of Stranger Things releases tomorrow, so we might expect something to start in Fortnite as well.
