With the conclusion of Season 7 of Fortnite, Season 8 is just a couple of days away as a new teaser of the game was revealed by Epic Games over at the Fortnite Twitter page. The dates of the new season were also confirmed to be 28 February.
Typically before any season, Epic Games starts to release teasers for the next season. This time is no different as well. The teaser shows a hook, suggesting that the season would be a pirate theme, where it also references “X marks the spot”, which suggests treasures that pirate love to hunt, and the second hint was the “those who arrive on the waves”.

But a few hours after the first teaser, another teaser was revealed on the same Twitter page, where we can see a snake. While there are speculations of a pirate theme, this serpentine figure goes somewhere else. Whether this is related to a villainous character in the game is soon to be confirmed.

Season 8 of Fortnite has to be an important one, especially after the surprise release of Apex Legends which has stormed its way into the battle royale genre with a free game that is highly praised by many, while also taking the top streaming spot replacing Fortnite.
With Season 8, expectations would be high for the game to deliver something to counter the attention that Apex Legends is in right now.
In a recent Reddit AMA, Epic Employees provided a lot of information regarding the details of the new season, as well as the changes that fans can expect. Epic Games has started considering the respawn mechanics that Apex Legends has, and is also exploring improvements that will help with he map markers and team communication. Another thing that Apex Legends is good at.
Other additions and changes include a new single seater vehicle that is coming in this new season. While its controversial Stormwing plane is being vaulted. Additional changes include improved sound where fans can expect enhanced weapon firing sounds, new sounds for going in and out of ADS, better hit marker audio and lots more.
With all the information and teasers pouring out slowly, we can expect that Fortnite is coming with a lot of new things in the game. We will soon find out what the theme of the new season will be.
