The Xbox Games Showcase 2024 delivered an electrifying lineup, revealing a myriad of games that players can eagerly anticipate. Major Franchise Comebacks and New Titles

Enthusiasts can look forward to spectacular returns with Gears of War: E-Day and Doom: The Dark Ages, alongside exciting glimpses of State of Decay 3, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Perfect Dark, and South of Midnight. Additionally, Starfield: Shattered Space made its grand debut. For World of Warcraft fans, the showcase revealed the release date for The War Within, the next expansion set in Azeroth.

Partner Highlights and Gameplay Premieres

Partner studios didn’t disappoint, with a world-first gameplay reveal of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, introductions to future party members in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and the exciting return of Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater. There were also exhilarating new titles such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Atomfall, and Winter Burrow making their debuts.

New Hardware Announcements

Adding to the excitement, Xbox announced three new Xbox Series X|S console options, set to enhance their lineup this holiday season. These new models promise the same speed and performance, with added design, storage, and price options to suit various needs. The new options include a 1TB Series S in Robot White, an all-digital Xbox Series X, and a 2TB Xbox Series X Special Edition in Galaxy Black.

World’s Edge showcased a trailer for the much-anticipated Age of Mythology: Retold, merging elements from the beloved 2002 game with modern real-time strategy design, visuals, and gameplay. The game is set to launch on September 4, 2024, and will be available on both PC and console at release.


Obsidian Entertainment’s Avowed offered a new look at its captivating story, introducing players to the Living Lands and a thrilling narrative set for release in 2024.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

The latest installment in the iconic franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, arrives on October 25. The game promises a mind-bending spy action thriller set in the early 1990s, with new features like Omnimovement and a return to Classic Prestige and Round-Based Zombies.

Doom: The Dark Ages

Revealed worldwide, Doom: The Dark Ages is set for 2025. This prequel to Doom (2016) promises grounded, hard-hitting combat and epic battles, featuring a colossal Atlan mech and a jet-fueled, cybernetic war dragon.


Playground Games’ Fable series returned with a darker take, featuring Humphry, a fallen hero played by Matt King, who must come out of retirement to save Albion from a mysterious threat.

Gears of War: E-Day

Gears of War: E-Day revisits the pivotal Emergence Day, set 14 years before the original game. The trailer, crafted by The Coalition and Blur Studio, featured stunning visuals and an instrumental version of ‘Mad World,’ reimagined by Adam Lastiwka.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

A new trailer for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle showcased thrilling gameplay and pivotal scenes, sending players on an adventurous trek through the Himalayas.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

The upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, set for release on November 19, promises an unprecedented flight simulation experience, featuring diverse aircraft, detailed airports, and stunning renditions of Earth.

Perfect Dark

A gameplay reveal for Perfect Dark introduced players to a near-future ecological sci-fi story where Joanna Dark hunts down the world’s most wanted criminal.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard

BioWare’s new trailer for Dragon Age: The Veilguard introduced players to their team of companions, promising a vibrant land of rugged wilderness and glittering cities to explore.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn

Set to release on July 18, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn offers brutal, fast-paced combat with a blend of classic Souls mechanics.

Life Is Strange: Double Exposure

Set for release on October 29, Life Is Strange: Double Exposure marks the return of Max Caulfield in a supernatural murder mystery, featuring parallel realities.

Starfield Shattered Space

Deep in the dark reaches of space, the followers of the Great Serpent live shrouded in mystery. Begin an epic new story and explore House Va’ruun territory in Shattered Space, Starfield’s first major expansion. Watch the reveal trailer now and experience the story of House Va’ruun when Shattered Space launches later this year.

In addition to the first look at Shattered Space, highlights from Starfield‘s latest major update were shared immediately following the Xbox Showcase. Official mod support with the launch of Creations, the first new quest DLC with the introduction of Trackers Alliance, new bounty hunting features, and improvements to melee weapons are the highlights of Starfield’s June Update. The June Update is now available on Xbox Series X|S and PC
