Epic Games and Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockdown developer Mediatonic announced in a joint blog post that Epic Games has bought the developer. The developer also detailed that following the acquisition, nothing in the game will change. Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockdown is also available on Steam and it will continue to stay there. The game’s Xbox and Nintendo Switch are also not affected by this development in any way.
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockdown is an online-only game where players from around the world take part in different challenging Knockout-style challenges in solo and team matches and winners move on to the next round until a winner is decided after everyone else is eliminated in the game. It features a cute art style and ragdoll physics to make platforming as challenging as possible and Epic has announced that nothing will change for the game in terms of its gameplay.
Dave Bailey, Tonic Games Group Co-Founder and CEO commented:
At Tonic Games Group we often say that ‘everyone deserves a game that feels like it was made for them.’ With Epic, we feel like we have found a home that was made for us. They share our mission to build and support games that have a positive impact, empower others and stand the test of time and we couldn’t be more excited to be joining forces with their team.
Tim Sweeney, Epic Games Founder, and CEO also said:
It’s no secret that Epic is invested in building the metaverse and Tonic Games shares this goal. As Epic works to build this virtual future, we need great creative talent who know how to build powerful games, content, and experiences.
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockdown became instantly famous when it released during the pandemic’s peak time in 2020 and since then it has been one of the most played online titles. Its popularity has somewhat declined over the months however the developers have been churning out continuous updates for the game to make it better and keep the content fresh. Now, under Epic’s umbrella, we are sure that the game will get even better in the future.
