Elden Ring Will Require 30 Hours to Complete Main Story

Elden Ring 30 Hours

Elden Ring has now gone gold as confirmed by developer FromSoftware at the Taipei Game Show 2022. Producer Yasuhiro Kitao revealed that the game will take players 30 hours to finish the main story, but plenty has plenty of hours of gameplay when players pursue optional content.

This will differ significantly by player but in terms of targets set during development, the idea is that the main route should be able to be completed within around 30 hours. The game as a whole is quite massive, and contains many dozens more hours worth of gameplay but if we are talking about the main route only, it shouldn’t take much longer than that.

With the announcement, the game’s February release seems to be on track without any further hiccups or delays. This was reassured by Kitao saying that the title will be ready for its announced launch date. Elden Ring is set to launch exactly one month from now on 25th February and will be launched on consoles and PC

When asked about the development and if things are running smoothly, Kitao responded,

The master version has already been submitted. Right now, the team is working on a day one patch, to make sure everything in the game is just so.

Kitao also talked about how it is impossible for players to 100% complete the game in the first playthrough, suggesting that the game will a typical FromSoftware game where you can carry character data, play again, and face tougher enemies.

After clearing the game the first time, you can carry across your character data and play the game again, against powered-up enemies. This has always been a feature of our games. In fact, with the world being so vast, the game is designed so that it can be cleared without necessarily experiencing everything. Some players will prefer to try and explore the entire map the first time, while others will leave some areas for exploration in second or subsequent cycles.
