DayZ 1.18 Update Adds New Explosives, Grenade Launcher, Improvised IEDs, and More

DayZ 1.18 Update

Bohemia Interactive is keeping the gameplay fresh for its popular zombie survival game, DayZ, as the game’s 1.18 update brings in new explosives that range from grenade launchers to improvised IEDs.

This completely adds a new approach to combat whether you are fighting hordes of zombies, or other geared survivors. With the ever-growing arsenal of weapons, many players are already out on the lookout to get their hands on the grenade launcher and bombs.

The update also brings in a new dynamic event, where this time it is in the form of train wrecks. These wrecks will lead you to unexpected encounters on railroads located all around the map.

But let’s talk about the new explosive weapons, starting with the Grenade Launcher M79. This weapon can attach three different types of 40mm grenade launcher ammo, that you will spot in a lot of military locations and bases. These ammunitions allow you to fire smoke grenades, explosive grenades, and even rare P-OX grenades to suffocate your targets in a deadly gas cloud. Have an opponent hiding in a building? The P-OX grenade will flush them out or knock them out in no time.

Moving on the new explosive options like the IEDs can be set with a timer or can be remotely detonated from a distance using a radio controller. In addition, you also have the Claymore Mine that offers immense directional damage at close range. Once you have killed off the opponents and secured some sweet high-tier loot, you can celebrate with the fireworks. Just make sure that you don’t attract too much attention as both the zombies and nearby players will know about your location.

Lastly, the train wrecks come in three tiers, ranging from civilian to military trains. These offer some of the best loot available, including the Grenade Launcher M79
