Co-Op Action RPG Dauntless Delayed to Summer 2019

Phoenix Labs has announced that they are delaying the release of their upcoming co-op action RPG Dauntless and the game will now release in Summer 2019. The initial plan to release Dauntless was in April but now the title has been further delayed into Summer.

According to Phoenix Labs, the additional time will be used to further improve the game and further polish the gameplay. The developer also wants to stress-test for scale and work on additional features to ensure that they are working flawlessly when the game is released on consoles and Epic Games Store.

The developer also wants to implement cross-play support for the consoles and they are working hard to ensure that the feature is flawless at launch. The main focus of developer is on expanded friends lists, matchmaking and more so that the game works as ‘One Dauntless’ across all platforms.

At this point, Dauntless is playable on PC and the developer is releasing updates for it regularly. After the release on Epic Games Store, PS4 and Xbox One, a Nintendo Switch and smartphone release is also planned for 2019. The game was initially released in May 2018 on Microsoft Windows when the title was released as open beta.

Dauntless is a co-op action RPG which can be played both solo and multiplayer. Players join the game as slayers who are tasked with defeating the monsters called Behemoths. Dauntless features crafting and upgrading system which allows players to find and kill more powerful Behemoths.

The game allows four-player co-op and the player can go on hunts solo as well. Behemoth battles are played in third-person view and players will need to use a complicated combo system to attack and kill the bosses. They will also need to watch out for their health and stamina bars while battling.

Players can also collect loot which is later used for crafting and upgrading items such as weapons and armor. Dauntless is a free-to-play game and anyone can jump in the game without paying a dime. With cross-play enabled, players will be able to jump in the action with their friends even when they are on a different platform.

Dauntless is slated to release on PS4, Xbox One and Epic Games Store in Summer 2019.
