While the game was already announced earlier, hearing from the dev team puts another perspective on the game and what the players will get to experience. The series is known for its interactivity with main characters to build up the story, and the usual jump scares that come out of nowhere.

The executive producer of the game, Dan McDonald talked about House of Ashes and the completely new setting for the game, including 60 different death animations that players will get to see over the course of the story. However, that would depend on the story path each player goes for by making choices as the story progresses.

Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes

So from the previous reveals we know that the game is a completely new story, especially if you compare it to previous games in the series Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope and Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan. You will be a part of a special military group that is tasked in exploring an abandoned temple in the Arabian desert, right in the middle of the Iraq War. What awaits you in this old sinister temple is where the story begins, revealing the dark horrors that want the group trapped inside forever.

Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes is going to release this year on 22nd October on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.
