There is a lot of hype around Cyberpunk 2077 and there is speculation that the game will get a release date at E3 2019. The developers have also hinted that Cyberpunk 2077 could be a cross-generation release. This means that the game will not only be available on current generation consoles but Xbox Scarlett and PS5 as well.
During CDPR’s recent financial earnings call, Adam Kicinski talked about Cyperpunk 2077 and he mentioned that if they could release it on next-generation platforms then the developers will make use of that opportunity. The following is what he had to say in this regard:
If there is an opportunity for us to launch Cyberpunk for another generation, we would want to do this probably,
This means that not only will Cyberpunk 2077 release on current generation consoles but it could also come to the Xbox Scarlett and PS5. The version of the game on the next-generation consoles could have additional features such as better graphics or higher refresh rate. This is speculation at this point so do take this with a grain of salt until CDPR confirms these features.
Keeping in mind that Cyberpunk 2077 release is expected by the end of 2020, it could release on next-generation console at launch or be available on Xbox Scarlett and PS5 soon afterward. CDPR has also confirmed that there is going to be a pretty big E3 show so it is possible that we could finally get a Cyberpunk 2077 release date. The following is what CEO Adam Kiciński had to say in this regard:
Last year’s E3 has been the most important one so far throughout the whole CD Projekt history. But this year’s is going to be the most important one ever for us. We have really prepared a strong show.
The developer has confirmed that the game will have a variety of cars and car customization options. Other than that we know that the game will also have special weapons such as Katanas and Mantis Blades.
