The crossover event comes after Cuphead developer Studio MDHR was eager to work on a Cuphead character to feature in Smash Ultimate. During an interview with Game Informer, the co-creator of Cuphead Jared Moldenhauer had apparently gone over to talk to Nintendo’s manager of publisher and developer relations, Kirk Scott, and requested about the collaboration.
This is not the only Cuphead content in the game, as the game now allows you to create a Mii Gunner with a Cuphead Skin that you can buy. Once purchased, you can change the entire appearance to Cuphead. If you don’t purchase the Cuphead Mii Gunner costume, Cuphead and Mugman will be Red and Bright Blue Mega Man
The first spirit you can unlock is Cuphead which is a Primary character with 3222 Power. He also comes with Shooting Items Power ability. On the other hand, Mugman is also another Primary character that comes with 3162 Power, and the Jump boost ability.
The other two characters are The Devil (Cuphead) which is a Support character that comes with Energy Shot Attack/Resistance. Lastly, King Dice is also a Support character that has Undamaged Speed.
