Cyanide and Bigben have announced that their game Blood Bowl: Death Zone has finally left Early Access and the full version is now officially released on Steam. Blood Bowl: Death Zone is a fast-paced football game combined with violence. It is essentially based on Game Workshop’s cult board game.
In Blood Bowl: Death Zone, players will take control of a team comprised of four members and battle it out with another team in real-time matches that last for five minutes. However, unlike other sports games, Blood Bowl: Death Zone is not just limited to the human race. All Old World races are allowed to play this event and thus carnage is ensured. There are seven unique races to choose from which include Orcs, Dwarfs, High Elves, Chaos, Undead, Lizardmen, and Humans.
The teams are not bound by any strict rules of sports and hence they can punch opponents in the face and blast them away with a different number of spells. The game was released nearly 11 months ago in Early Access and during this time, the developer has listened to fan feedback and improved the game drastically with numerous updates and patches. The final version comes with new teams, new skills, a brand new single player campaign along with all the gameplay fixes that were added to the game during Early Access.
According to the official press release, key features of the game include:
- 14 teams built from the most popular races in the Blood Bowl universe
- 14 Star Players, each with their unique style, strengths, and weaknesses
- 20+ unique player skills
- Single player mode with 6 leagues to unlock and complete
- Multiplayer league and one-off matches
To celebrate the release of the full version of the game, the game is currently available at 50% off for a limited time. Head down to the official Steam page to buy the game at half the price before the discount is gone.
