Bethesda is Bringing Rage 2, Doom Eternal and More to Steam

Bethesda Steam

Bethesda has announced that it will bring its video games range to Steam as well as its own digital store. The titles announced so far for Steam include Rage 2, Doom Eternal, Wolfenstein: Youngblood and Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot. This was announced by Bethesda on their official Twitter account.

Earlier Bethesda sold its titles on PC via its own digital video game client Bethesda Store such as Fallout 76. It was never released on Steam and all players had to purchase the title from Bethesda Store if they wanted digital on PC. After this announcement, most of the future Bethesda titles will come to Steam along with Bethesda Store.

Bethesda has also announced that Fallout 76 will also come to Steam sometime later in 2019. This announcement comes at a time when PC gaming is split between Steam and Epic Games Store. Earlier, there was no hassle on PC Gaming but since Epic Games released their own digital store, they started signing deals with developers to release their titles exclusively through Epic Games Store in return for more profit share.

Ubisoft was one of the earliest studios to jump on this bandwagon and has already signed a deal with Epic Games Store to bring all of the future titles to PC via Epic Games Store and its own uPlay client. After Ubisoft, the second major blow to Steam was Metro Exodus when publisher Deep Silver announced that it will be removed from Steam and will remain an Epic Games Exclusive for one year.

However, Bethesda seems to be sticking with Steam as it has recently announced that most of its future titles will release on Steam as well. This includes the upcoming Doom Eternal and Rage 2 both of which belong to highly sought after franchises. Fallout 76 skipped Steam at launch but now Bethesda is bringing it to Steam as well.
