When you normally hunt and skin an animal, you receive only a single resource as a reward. For example, skinning an Ocelot usually rewards just one Pelt. While this works early on, gathering larger amounts of crafting materials can take quite a bit of time if you’re relying on the default drop rate.
You can increase your resources received and farming efficiency by using an Exotic Trinket, which increases your material received from wildlife.
How to Get the Exotic Seashells Trinket
The Exotic Seashells trinket can be found in Havana, which you will visit as it is one of the major visits in the story. To obtain the Exotic Seashell Trinket, you will have to go to the southern section of the city and look for a hidden chest positioned between two buildings. Once you locate the chest, simply open it to receive the Exotic Sea Shells Trinket.
This reward does not have to wait until the later chapters, as Havana is available early in the game. You now have the trinket; open your inventory and equip it to either your A or B trinket slot. As soon as you equip it, the bonus is available whenever you skin an animal, and nothing else needs to be unlocked. Because it only takes one trinket slot, it’s an easy upgrade to keep equipped whenever you’re planning to hunt animals for crafting resources.
You will see the difference in resources received right away. Without the trinket, an Ocelot only drops one Pelt after being skinned, but after equipping the trinket, the Ocelot will reward you with 2 Pelts. This is very useful as you can spend less time hunting because you will receive more crafting resources with each kill. Instead of tracking down multiple animals for the same upgrade, you can gather what you need much more quickly.
When you are farming for rarer wildlife, you will see a better benefit of the trinket as you will be able to gather resources for your next equipment upgrades in fewer hunts. Because you can obtain it relatively early in Havana, it’s a useful item to pick up before spending time hunting for pelts and other wildlife materials.
