Arma 3 Art of War DLC

Bohemia Interactive has announced that its Arma 3 Art of War DLC managed to raise over $155K during its fundraising period for charity. The developer has said in an official press release that the studio will be donating 100% of their revenue after taxes from the Arma 3 Art of Wart charity DLC to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The total amount raised during the fundraising was $155,783 USD (approximately €138,330 EUR / £116,944 GBP).

With the fundraiser period now ended, the Art of War DLC is now free for all Arma 3 players as it was announced during its announcement during February 2021. The Art of War DLC adds an in-game exhibition to Arma 3 where everyone can see some of the best artwork and screenshots made by the Arma 3 community. Apart from the exhibit, the DLC also adds a new single-player combat scenario where players are sent on a mission to recover valuable paintings stolen in a war zone.

Apart from the mission and exhibit, the DLC also adds a formal suit, parade uniform, new backpack, various T-Shirts, and several props related to art galleries and memorials. The fundraiser period of the DLC lasted for approximately 9 months on Steam during which the price of the DLC was just $1.99 USD/EUR/GBP. Players wanting to donate more were able to choose from a higher price tier including 4.99 USD/EUR/GBP and 9.99 USD/EUR/GBP.

All three tiers offered the same benefits to the players and at the end of the campaign about 84.4% of people bought it at the standard price tier of 1.99 USD, 5.4% got it at the middle price tier of 4.99 USD, and 10.2% purchased the highest 9.99 USD price. The complete donation of $155,783 will support the ICRC in its mission to ensure humanitarian protection and assistance for victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence.

Marek Resich from the Resource Mobilization division at the ICRC said:

We are very grateful to Bohemia Interactive and to all the players who made a donation to the ICRC. Our collaboration over the years is a strong example of the synergies that can be developed across communities, offline and online, and this donation will make a clear difference in the life of thousands of people.
