A new Graphic benchmark has leaked for the Apple A14 Bionic chip showcasing the GPU performance of the A14 Bionic chip. The recently announced iPad Air 4 is the first Apple device to come with the new A14 Bionic chip, which is also expected to be part of the iPhone 12 and a new Apple TV. The new benchmark shows that Apple’s latest 5nm SoC GPU makes short work of its predecessors.
According to the leaked numbers, the A14 Bionic GPU is about 72% faster than the A13 Bionic chip which is a gigantic leap. The A14 Bionic GPU Is 8 percent faster than the A12Z Bionic, but the biggest difference shows up against the A13 Bionic GPU. The results were of the Metal benchmark which and this benchmark is typically used to stress the chipset’s GPU.
Apple’s newest 5nm SoC maintains a lead against all the custom silicon the technology giant has released so far. 9to5mac compared the A14 Bionic result with the previous-gen chips. The comparison is below.
- A14 Bionic (iPad Air 4): 12571
- A12Z Bionic (2020 iPad Pro): 11665
- A12X Bionic (2018 iPad Pro): 10860
- A13 Bionic (iPhone 11): 7308
- A12 Bionic (iPad Air 3): 5242
The benchmark has put Apple’s iPad Air 4 4 at the top of the Metal ranking. The A14 Bionic chip has an 8% faster GPU than the one included with the A12Z Bionic chip and a massive 72% faster than the A13 Bionic chip’s GPU.
Another interesting leak relating to the A14 Bionic chip was about Apple Arcade. Known Apple leaker Fudge shared on Twitter some details about Apple’s strategy to boost the Apple Arcade. According to Fudge, Apple is working with game developers to bring more games that can compete with console titles.
