Hello Kitty Island Adventure Tea Garden DLC Launches August 6 With New Story Quests and Regency-Themed Content

Hello Kitty Island Adventure Tea Garden

Sunblink and Sanrio have announced Tea Garden, the next downloadable content expansion for Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Launching on August 6, the DLC introduces a new area, story-driven quests, themed customization options, recipes, and decorations for players across Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and PC via Steam. The expansion will be priced at $9.99, while its contents will also be included in the Apple Arcade version of the game for free.

The update centers on the mysterious Tea Garden Ball, an elegant event that begins after invitations are sent across Friendship Island with no indication of who is hosting it. Players will return to Merry Meadows to explore the newly added Tea Garden, uncover the mystery behind the celebration, and help several familiar Sanrio characters prepare for the occasion.

The expansion adds more than 15 new narrative quests, featuring characters including Hello Kitty, My Melody, Pochacco, Kuromi, and Chococat. As players progress through the storyline, they’ll uncover new secrets while completing tasks tied to the island’s grandest social gathering.

Customization plays a major role in the new content, with players able to unlock 15 new clothing pieces that can be combined into more than 300 outfit variations. Inspired by Regency-era fashion, the collection includes bonnets, bows, dresses, and other formal attire. In addition to dressing their own character, players can outfit more than 30 non-playable characters with new themed clothing.

The DLC also expands the game’s crafting and cooking systems with two new food preparation stations: the Teapot and the Tiered Tray. Together they introduce 38 recipes, allowing players to prepare tea, sandwiches, scones, and other refreshments suitable for the garden party setting.

Players looking to redesign their island homes will also gain access to a variety of decorative items, including gazebos, hedge mazes, and other garden-inspired furnishings that can be used to transform cabins into personalized Tea Garden retreats.

Originally released on Apple Arcade before expanding to consoles and PC, Hello Kitty Island Adventure blends life simulation mechanics with exploration, platforming, puzzle-solving, crafting, and friendship-building. Rather than focusing solely on farming or decoration, the game encourages players to explore Friendship Island, strengthen relationships with Sanrio characters, complete quests, customize their avatar, and build vacation homes either alone or in multiplayer.

The cozy adventure has received widespread recognition since its debut, earning Apple Arcade Game of the Year honors, multiple Webby People’s Voice Awards, and nominations for Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards 2023 and Mobile Game of the Year at the 27th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards. The Tea Garden DLC launches on August 6 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and PC via Steam for $9.99. Players on Apple Arcade will receive the new content as part of the subscription version of Hello Kitty Island Adventure.
