Publisher Arc Games and developer Cryptic Studios have released Star Trek Online: Undiscovered on PC, kicking off the latest season for the long-running free-to-play MMORPG. The update will arrive on PlayStation and Xbox consoles on July 29.
Undiscovered brings a reimagining of The Ultimate Klingon story arc, one of the game’s earliest and most memorable storylines. The update also brings back Star Trek: Voyager actors Robert Picardo as the Doctor and Lisa LoCicero as Lieutenant Miral Paris.
More than 16 years after its original launch, Star Trek Online continues to revisit classic content while modernizing it for today’s players. Alongside the revamped story, Cryptic Studios has overhauled Deep Space Encounters, transforming them into a repeatable procedural system that offers randomized objectives, enemies, and locations across Sector Space.
Here’s what players can expect in Undiscovered:
- New Episode – The Kuvah’Magh: Return to 2409 and experience the opening chapter of the reimagined “The Ultimate Klingon” storyline. Players will join Lieutenant Miral Paris and the Doctor in an attempt to secure peace between the Federation and the Klingon Empire before events take a darker turn.
- New Feature – Deep Space Encounters: Explore procedurally generated encounters throughout the Alpha, Beta, and Delta Quadrants. Each mission features randomized objectives, enemies, and environments while rewarding bonus Endeavor XP and event progress.
- New Event – Undiscovered: Take part in the seasonal event by completing the new episode, Deep Space Encounters, or selected Task Force Operations to earn the K’Vort Temporal Flight Deck Raptor, a Klingon warship inspired by Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Lower Decks. The reward also includes the Hunting Pack Escorts universal console, the Imperial Pressure starship trait, and the new Rapid Fire Disruptor Heavy Emitter experimental weapon.
The update also serves as part of Star Trek Online’s ongoing celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Star Trek franchise, revisiting one of the MMORPG’s defining story arcs while introducing new gameplay systems focused on exploration and replayability.
Star Trek Online: Undiscovered is available now on PC via Steam. The update launches for PlayStation and Xbox on July 29. Details about the console launch will be announced later.
