Funcom has announced Legacy of the Giant-Kings, a new four-part story arc coming to Conan Exiles Enhanced. The first chapter launches on July 21, with three additional free updates scheduled to roll out over the coming months.
The new storyline takes players beneath the Unnamed City and into the Cyclopean Halls, where they’ll meet a new character named Akhamet and begin uncovering the secrets of the long-lost Giant-Kings. Each update will continue the narrative while introducing new challenges across the Exiled Lands.
Alongside the new story content, Funcom is finally adding one of the community’s most requested features: Legendary gear repair. Players will be able to restore worn Legendary equipment by visiting a special anvil hidden within the new area, giving endgame gear a longer lifespan.
The announcement follows the recent launch of Conan Exiles Enhanced, which delivered a major overhaul to the survival game. According to Funcom, the enhanced edition helped the game reach a peak of 47,949 concurrent players, its highest player count since the original launch in 2018.
Developed in collaboration with Inflexion Games, the new story arc was conceived during development of the Enhanced Edition and is designed to expand the game’s lore by exploring the mysterious Giant-Kings, one of the oldest civilizations in the Conan Exiles universe.
Originally released in 2018, Conan Exiles has remained one of the more popular open-world survival games thanks to its base-building, exploration, and brutal combat. Nearly a decade after its debut, Funcom continues to support the game with major free updates alongside paid content.
The first chapter of Legacy of the Giant-Kings arrives on July 21, 2026, with the remaining three chapters releasing as free updates in the months ahead. Conan Exiles Enhanced is currently available on PC via Steam, and the Enhanced Update is also available for all owners free of charge.
