Monument of Triumph Distortion’s Guide – Destiny 2
Begin by opening your Director and checking your quest log. You should see a quest called The Tenets. Track it and follow the first objective, which sends you to the Tower Courtyard.
Travel to the Tower and head toward the monument located in the courtyard area. Once you reach it, interact with the monument to continue. After inspecting it, you will receive instructions to review the monument’s triumphs and claim available rewards.
Open the first monument category, Tenet of Bravery, and collect the rewards tied to its triumphs. These rewards include Legendary Marks, a special currency used within the monument store.
After collecting enough marks, purchase any item from the monument vendor. The quest only requires a single purchase, so choosing one of the lower-cost items is usually the quickest option.
Speak with Ikora and Lodi
Once you have made a purchase, head to the Bazaar and speak with Ikora Rey. After the conversation, she will provide the Distortions quest. Track the new quest and proceed to meet Lodi in the Tower. He can be found not far from Ikora’s location, on her left. Speak with him to unlock the next objective.
Finding a Distorted Destination
The next step requires you to investigate a Distortion Breach after completing activities on a distorted world. Open your Destinations map and look for a location marked with a distinctive red distortion symbol. Only one destination is affected at a time, and the corruption rotates periodically between different locations.
When you find the active destination, travel there and locate a public event marked with the same distortion symbol. Complete the event to begin gathering the resources needed for the quest.
Collecting Strange Matter
Distorted destinations look noticeably different from their normal versions. Environmental effects, unusual visual distortions, and enemies make these locations easy to identify once you arrive.
Completing distorted public events rewards Strange Matter, an important quest item. Strange Matter can also be obtained from several other sources while exploring the corrupted destination.
If the distortion moves to another destination before you have gathered enough Strange Matter, simply travel to the newly corrupted location and continue collecting resources there. Continue farming Strange Matter until the objective is fully completed.
Investigating the Strange Signal
After collecting enough Strange Matter, a new objective will appear. Open your map and search for a location labeled Strange Signal.
The signal’s location depends on where you finished collecting your Strange Matter. Because of this, different players may receive the signal at different destinations. Place a waypoint on the signal location and begin making your way there.
Europa Nexus Access Solution
Some players may receive their signal on Europa. If this happens and you discover that the entrance to the Nexus is sealed, there is a simple solution. You only need to complete the opening portion of the Beyond Light campaign. Start by traveling to Europa and speaking with the Exo Stranger at the Beyond landing area.
Following the introductory Beyond Light objectives will eventually lead you to a beacon that can be activated nearby. Interacting with this beacon grants access to the previously blocked Nexus entrance. Fortunately, only the first section of Beyond Light is required, so you won’t need to progress far into the campaign.
Following the Signal
After gaining access, continue toward the signal marker. Along the route, interact with the required beacon or sigil when prompted. This removes the barrier blocking the path forward and allows you to enter the underground area connected to the quest objective.
Once inside, defeat the enemies guarding the location and search the area for the reward chest. Opening the chest completes the signal investigation.
