Subnautica 2 Moonpool Guide – How to Spawn Vehicles, How to Ensure Vehicle Fabricator Properly Works

This Subnautica 2 Moonpool Guide shows how you can make a spacious Moonpool to dock the Tadpole and Vehicle Fabricator. The Moonpool is one of the most useful base structures in Subnautica 2. It allows you to dock your Tadpole and install important upgrades like the Vehicle Fabricator.

Moonpool Guide – Subnautica 2

Below, you will find information on how you can not only build the Moonpool but also make sure that the vehicle fabricator fits properly with it.

Building the Moonpool

To create a Moonpool, you will need to expand your base enough until you are ready to dock and spawn vehicles. You will need 5 Titanium to build it. Make sure you place it somewhere with water deep enough for vehicles to access from the bottom, because all vehicles spawned inside the Moonpool will need to go down and then forward for deep-sea exploration.

Why Your Vehicle Fabricator May Not Fit

Even after expanding the base, many players run into the same problem where the fabricator refuses to snap into place. The issue is not the base size itself, but the actual Moonpool design being too small. Once the structure is built correctly, everything works normally.

The reason is simple: the Moonpool section itself does not have enough space. Expanding nearby rooms will not fix the problem because the docking area remains too small for the required equipment.

Making the Moonpool Bigger

To solve this issue, you need to increase the size of the Moonpool structure instead of just extending the rest of the base. Once the Moonpool has enough room, the placement system finally allows the Vehicle Fabricator and the Tadpole Dock to be installed properly.

After upgrading the Moonpool size, both modules should snap into place without any problems.

Adding the Tadpole Dock

Once the Moonpool is large enough, you can install the Tadpole Dock and spawn your vehicle directly inside the docking area. After the vehicle is entered, the docking system operates correctly, and the Moonpool becomes fully functional. This setup makes vehicle access much smoother.
