This Saros Endings Guide details how you can unlock different endings in Saros, including its true ending and a secret ending. After finishing the main story of Saros, you will find out that your journey in the game is not over. The game has something for you to reveal. To unlock this, what the game calls True Ending, you will need to do a bunch of things like revisit several locations, uncover new conversations, and make a different choice during your last encounter.
Endings Guide – Saros
When you defeat the King in your last encounter, you (Arjun) will be transformed into the King himself. This is very disturbing to see. After that, you will suddenly find yourself back in The Passage as if nothing happened.
You need to walk downstairs into the central room. There will be a fresh audio log placed on a table on your right. The recording is from Kayla, who warns Soltari workers to stay away from Carcosa because of the danger.
Once you hear the log, go to the Primary. You will see the system is fluctuating or malfunctioning. This system will tell you about a signal generated from the Shattered Descent. This will be your next objective.
Investigating the Signal in Shattered Descent
Make your way towards Shattered Descent. One choice is to teleport directly to the location. Once there, make your way to the large dome-shaped building near the start of the area in Echelon III.
Go inside the building. There, you need to find a red door. Upon reaching it, a cutscene will begin. This shows Kayla suddenly appearing in front of you and pointing a weapon at you. Once the situation cools down, Kayla says that she heard someone over the radio, likely Nitya, who told her that Arjun must go to the red tree in Blighted Marsh.
The Red Tree and Kiira’s Truth
After reaching Blighted Marsh, continue through the biome. You need to do it until you pass the ruins containing the Nightmare Strand portal. Near that location, there will be a red tree that you have probably seen during your earlier runs.
On approaching it this time, something new will happen. A cut scene will play where Kiira speaks directly to Arjun. At this moment, it will become clear that Kiira and the voice inside the suit are actually the same. She angrily tells Arjun to stop chasing Nitya and also claims that Nitya chose her instead.
At that moment, Arjun rejects Kiira’s claims and refuses to give up. He promises to make everything right. Upon listening to Arjun, Kiira then tells him that if he truly wants answers, he has to return to the Cathedral and learn the truth about Nitya.
Discovering the Truth in Nitya’s Lab
When you reach the Cathedral, you will need to complete the biome normally once again. You will need to do some tasks involving bells and tuning forks, which will open the path leading underground into Nitya’s Lab.
Inside the lab, you will see a holographic recording in the center of the lab’s room. Interact with it to see it. This reveals the conversation between Nitya and Kiira. In the recording, Nitya accepts that she escaped from Earth because she wanted freedom from the pain Arjun caused in her life.
This will be the first time Arjun accepts the reality and his mistake. Kiira asks him what kind of person he plans to become now, and Arjun answers that he wants to become someone better and more honest. You will be prompted to return to The Passage.
Kayla’s Final Decision
After returning to The Passage, again go downstairs. This will trigger a cutscene, in which Kayla appears once again. But she looks different now, because of the glowing blue lights in her eyes.
There, she talks about the lost members of Echelon IV and finds out that more Soltari teams will eventually arrive at Carcosa. Kayla decides that she will stay to help Soltari’s and try to stop them from staying. At this point, the Banyan Tree portal activates. Interact with it to head to the Banyan Tree.
Inside the Banyan Tree, Arjun returns to the alleyways. As you continue moving forward, you will find a document of a police investigation saying about Arjun’s involvement in Sebastian’s death.
Not far ahead, you will find Sebastian himself leaning against a wall outside Rue Barree. During their talk, Sebastian asks what he truly meant to Arjun. Arjun takes a long pause and finally admits that he spent a long time pretending he meant nothing to him. Police lights flash around them while Arjun is talking to Sebastian.
From there, you will be asked to make your way to the Yellow Shore.
Returning to Yellow Shore
Once you have done everything, you need to use the portal beside Primary. This will teleport you to Yellow Shore. Continue through the biome normally as you had done earlier, and prepare to fight King once again for the last time. Just like before, your Second Chance ability will remain disabled. So you need to play very carefully and avoid unnecessary risks during the fight.
After beating the King this time, you will see an entirely new ending. Instead of meleeing and triggering the cutscene, King collapses, and a giant portal opens behind him. Rather than dealing the King the final blow, leave the King alive and walk toward the portal.
The True Ending
A final cutscene starts, where you will see that Arjun chooses to walk away from the crown and the revenge. Kiira persuades him to stop and listen to Nitya. Back on the shore, Arjun admits that he deserves this pain. Even after accepting this, the tentacled eclipse appears, and he slowly starts transforming into the King once again.
Before he permanently becomes the King, Arjun realizes his past mistakes again and tears the medallion from his neck and throws it into the ocean. The transformation stops. After that moment, Arjun finds out that Nitya is behind him.
She tells Arjun that he never understood when to stop trying to control and fix everything. Arjun admits she is right. Nitya also says that the past cannot be changed. Looking toward the rising sun, she tells him that a new day has begun and asks what he plans to do with it.
As she walks away, Arjun is left alone, thinking about her words. The screen slowly fades to black while he apologizes one final time. In the last shot, the medallion washes onto the shore, ending the story.
