Narrative ARPG Acolyte Gets New Voice Within Update Featuring New Dialogue

Acolyte Voice Within

Developer Superstring has announced the launch of the new Voice Within Update for its narrative ARPG Acolyte. The new Voice Within Update brings dynamic and fully voiced dialogue to the game thanks to a partnership with TTS-developers ReadSpeaker. Check out the new content in the newly released trailer for Acolyte: Voice Within Update below:

ReadSpeaker’s Tom DiPietropolo commented:

We’re excited to see the release of the Voice Within update. ReadSpeaker is excited to play a role in the engaging dialog Superstring has created by incorporating our Unity Game Engine plugin to bring dynamic, runtime Voice AI to their Alternate Reality Game.

Apart from the TTS functionality, the new update also brings a new Horoscope Module to the game along with new Jokes and Interesting Facts which can be retrieved via natural language input, hundreds of lines of new dialogue, and a ton of fixes and improvements for the game. Acolyte is built on the Spirit AI Character Engine which allows players to converse with their Acolyte in real-time via a series of text exchanges.

The full game combines non-linear storytelling with puzzles and wider ARG (Alternate Reality Game) elements for a unique narrative that spills out of the game and into the real world. Superstring’s Jamin also added:

ARG’s haven’t been explored all too much in the traditional game space. With Acolyte the intention was to build an experience that quickly left the confines of the game itself, where the realities of game world and the players real life start to blur. Acolyte has some big ideas, and I hope it resonates with narrative fans looking for something a little different.

In Acolyte, you become an employee of Nanomax, a well-funded tech start up which is looking to change the face of consumer AI. You step in the game as a remote QA tester for the company who interacts with its staff and absorbs its culture. As you get comfortable, you will start to notice unexplained firings, missing employees, and a strange, highly classified bug in the Acolyte code-base which are pointing to something very wrong.

Acolyte is now out on Steam, and you can head over to Steam to add the game to your Wishlist or jump into the game. The new 1.1 update is free for everyone who owns the game and if you already own the game, you can update your game to get all of the latest content right now.
