Nintendo has announced that it is expanding the classic game library of Nintendo Switch Online with six new titles next week. The titles range from both SNES and NES libraries and players will get to play some of the best classic titles with their Online membership this holiday.
Fans would be delighted to know that among other titles, Nintendo is also releasing Star Fox 2, a game that was originally planned for a 1995 release but was never released back then. The game was later released exclusively on SNES Classic Mini but now Nintendo Switch players will be able to play the game on their console with Nintendo Switch Online.
Out of the six games arriving on Nintendo Switch Online on December 12, 2019, four games are SNES games while two games are NES games. All six games will be found in the Nintendo Switch Online app on Nintendo Switch and all members can play these games until they remain a member of the premium subscription service.
The six classic games coming next week include:
- Super NES
- Star Fox 2
- Super Punch-Out!!
- Kirby Super Star
- Breath of Fire II
- NES
- Crystalis
- Journey to Silius
All of these titles were critically-acclaimed titles back then and many new players would love to play these classic gems now. Nintendo Switch Online classic library is probably the best feature of the Online subscription as it is bringing life to some of the titles which were long-forgotten but now new players can play and experience the early days of video games as well.
NES titles have been part of the service for a long time and SNES games were added to subscription a few months ago. Ever since Nintendo has been expanding SNES games on the console as well along with NES games. At this point, Nintendo Switch Online players have access to over 70 classic SNES and NES games, all of which can be played on Nintendo Switch.
