Werewolf: The Apocalypse Earthblood gets to new dev diary videos giving us more information, and how the studio have developed a stealthy and bestial gaming experience from the original World of Darkness universe.
Both the videos feature the production team of the game talking about its long development phase. The developer videos has the game director Julien ‘Patch’ Desourteaux, as well as Bren Bruylant, animator, Clément Demaret, level designer, Simon Decottignies-Renard, narrative designer, Maxime Roy, project manager and Juliette Ruaux, UI/UX artist.
The team says that their passion for World of Darkness, the fictional universe where the game takes place comes from the first notebook. In the first video, the developers talk about the world of the game and the story of Cahal. The exiled Garou, haunted by family tragedy, sets out to reunite with his loved ones and to fight Endron, a multinational corporation bent on destroying all forms of life behind its benign greenwashed facade. The company is run from the shadows by a malignant entity called the Wyrm, one of the werewolves’ most dangerous enemies.
The second dev diary video shows the game’s beat’em up orientation, which adds to the violet and heart-pounding experience of the game. Cahal can shift between three shapes, the Homid form which is used to interact with other characters, the Lupus which is for exploration and infiltration, and Crinos form where Cahal gets the supernatural strength to fight enemies.
Earlier this week, we got the game’s Endron fake ad, which came with a brief statement by the Endron corporation, talking about how the Earth is filled with valuable resources that are meant to be taken by them, the extremist environmental groups that stand against them, and the company’s new cutting edge weapons and technology to defend against them.
