Anca Romance Guide – Blood of Dawnwalker

The first important part of Anca’s romance happens during the prologue, when you visit her first hut to obtain medicinal herbs. You’ll initially find her by the river, where she is dealing with the scars on her arm. When you first approach her, choose the responses that are friendly and occasionally flirty, especially when those options become available.

In the first quest, there is one important decision involving the payment for the herbs. When you’re asked about the 50 payment, don’t bargain for 25. Instead, choose the response explaining that you cannot afford it and will pay her back later. Later in the same sequence, you’ll be given the choice to go or stay, and it is important that you choose Stay.

Moreover, you must help Anca collect the herbs because you need them for your mother. Bring the herbs inside as quickly as possible. Whilst all this, Anca will fall, which will give you the opportunity to help her. You will be able to assist her with her injuries and apply medicine to her back. This is the first intimate moment shown in the romance route; you can continue with the rest of the herb objective and take the ingredients back to Peter to prepare the medicine for your mother.

You’ll meet Anca again after the fight with Princess at the end of the prologue. She saves you from being left tied to a tree in the sunlight. There aren’t many major romance decisions here, so continue being friendly rather than deliberately choosing hostile responses.

Once you’ve entered the open world, Anca’s romance continues through several quests. One of the first important ones is Echoes of Silenced Bells, which begins when you meet Anca at the old inn in the bottom right portion of the map.

During this quest, you’ll help Anca return to the Covenant. Continue speaking to her in a friendly way. The quest eventually takes you to the Covenant building, where you’ll need to help secure access to the library.

To do this, go to the large building and interact with the window on the back left side, where you will encounter soldiers who will ask for a necklace in exchange for the key.

To find the necklace, first enter the nearby room and interact with Saintina’s body. You’ll discover that the necklace is missing. Then head outside and move toward the building area on the right. The required key is located inside a shed to the right. Collect it and use it to open the nearby building. Inside, interact with the nun and loot the necklace. Return to the soldier at the window and hand it over to receive the key. Make sure that you avoid the zombie nun and do not aggravate it while doing this.

With the route now open, return to Anca and let the quest continue through the catacombs. Afterward, Anca will continue with her ritual; you will have an option to stop her or allow her to proceed. It is recommended to let her finish the ritual and avoid throwing the notes into the fire.

Later, the story returns you to Anca’s inn during the Between the Words quest. After finding the secret book and speaking with her, you’ll eventually receive a dialogue option where Anka says she has always had faith in you.

When you get the opportunity, choosing the response that questions whether her feelings are more than simple faith can begin moving the conversation in a more romantic direction.

The next major stage comes much later, after completing many other quests with Where Old Devils Lie. Watch the map for the quest marker at Anca’s inn, as you’ll need to return after she completes her research.

This is the final major quest in the romance route. During the mission, choose the friendlier and flirty dialogue options rather than hostile ones. Anca will reveal more of herself as you work through the quest, and the two of you will eventually reach a hidden passage containing special runes.

In the runes, there is a segment in which you need to be there during the daytime, so you can either wait or come back later.

After returning to the runes during the daytime, you’ll get another intimate scene with Anca as she paints magic symbols on you. After she is done, the door will open, and you will enter the Font of Life. You will progress in this section until you reach the Idol; you’ll need to place your hand into the designated area and allow it to drain your blood. After passing out from the pain, choose the response “It was better me than you.” You can then continue through the newly opened route.

Later, Anca becomes angry, and you learn more about what she intends to do with the Font. When given the option to challenge her plan or support it, you should side with her. You can choose the response “But you left the Covenant behind”, followed later by the option “I would do anything for you.”

This is the point where you can directly express your feelings toward Anca and tell her that you love her. Continue through the rest of the mission until you finish the sequence at the Font of Life. You’ll eventually have to choose whether to use the Font yourself, let Anca use it, or destroy it.

You can destroy the Font, although the romance route should remain available whether you destroy it or allow Anca to use it. Since this is a major decision, making a save beforehand is recommended so you can return to the choice if needed. Afterward, return to Anca’s inn where the final romance conversation takes place.

When Anca wants to finish an earlier conversation, avoid choosing the options that dismiss the relationship or suggest simply forgetting what happened. Instead, choose “I meant what I said” or “I beg to differ.”

You’ll then receive another important choice. Select the option that continues the romantic relationship rather than choosing to remain friends. Following these choices, the special romance scene with Anca will begin.
