How to Unlock Fishing
To unlock fishing, you need to first find the fishing rod. This cannot be obtained early on in the game and requires you to play through the game, get your camp going and expanding, and allow yourself to engage in the various activities at the camp.
After some point, you will get a note from Fritz, where he will talk about his situation of being stranded on an island nearby. You now have to go and rescue him.
