Square Enix Announces a New Action RPG Called Oninaki for Switch, PS4 and PC

A new action JRPG game was announced by Square Enix called Oninaki, that is heading for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC. The announcement came with a trailer that shows some of the gameplay in action.

The colorful game is expected to come out sometime this summer on the both the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch console, as well as for players on PC. Take a look at the trailer below:

Developed by Square Enix, the tale is about a hero called Kagachi who can travel between the worlds of the living and the dead. All this to prevent the wandering souls from being turned into life-ending monsters. Your job as a player is to guide wanderings souls in order for the to continue the cyclical process of reincarnation over again.

The trailer seems to show real time gameplay action, with the hero’s abilities to target either single or entire groups of enemies. The character is bound by duty in trying his best to deny the Lost to enter the world.  There is a possibility that the souls he collects after defeating enemies, can be used to power his abilities up or level up his skills.

There are not many additionally details about the game, though at the Nintendo Direct presentations, it was specified that players can expect a deep single player campaign. The protagonist can be expected to fight and become stronger throughout the progression of the story.

A release date of the game was not confirmed, but Nintendo states that players on the Nintendo Switch can expect the game to be out this summer. the game is also coming out for the PlayStation 4 and PC as well, with no release date confirmations for either of the platforms.
