Research Points can be obtained by completing several activities in the game which includes completing missions and killing enemies. Other ways to get Research Points is by going to points of interest, or by looting items that you find in the world.
Having said that, the best way to earn the most Research Point is by completing missions and killing dinosaurs. Whenever you are in a mission, make sure that you leave no dinosaur behind and take it out for the last bit of point you can accumulate in the inventory. Another way to increase this is by not destroying the hives where the dinosaurs spawn from. This ensures that you get more enemies to kill as they come out from the hive, giving you more Research Points in return.
Another way you can get Research Points is by shooting drones that highlight points of interest to you. This will usually take you to locations like camps, or supply containers that give you Research Points.
Missions also have a star rating that also determines the XP and research points that you will get in the end. Make sure that you complete all the objectives and kill every enemy in the mission to get every last bit of research point you can add to your inventory.
