How to Choose a Partner
Rune Factory 5 has multiple characters that you can seek in the game, depending on some requirements that indicate your closeness to them. If a character you seek is not married, and if you have enough friendship level with them, you can further pursue your desires by completing the character’s story events before you can propose.
The game does not limit you in actively seeking multiple options before you choose a single character to marry. Whether you look for same sex or different sex, you can find them all throughout the map, learn about them, complete the three story events, and then begin your intimate life with them.
Confessing Love and Dating
Once you have all the bases covered, you can now confess your feelings to a character from the BTW menu. Here you will have a few options that will display your affection towards them. Depending on the friendship level you have (should be at least Level 7) your chances of success depend upon your standing with them. If they accept your proposal, things will then move towards dating.
Once your feelings are confessed, this will begin the Dating phase where you will go on three dates with your partner. This is a small step that requires you to be on time on the date, which further helps your relationship for the Marriage stage.
Marriage with Your Partner
With your relationship progressing along and after you have been on three different dates with your chosen partner, you now have to prepare for marriage. Other than all the conditions mentioned above, you need to make sure of a few final things, which include reaching level 10 with your partner, having met all the characters in Rigbarth, and finally having a wedding ring and double bed for your marriage.
The marriage preparation phase begins when you complete the final story event with your partner, beginning the marriage quest. You will now have to craft the wedding ring and purchase the double bed for yourself and your partner from Studio Palmo. From here, you can begin the marriage with your partner and begin a new life with them, while also having children along the way.
Having Children with Your Partner
Deciding to have children in the game is a three-week process, where after twenty days past your marriage, your partner will propose the idea of having children. For same sex couples, you will have the option to adopt children.
Deciding to have children will trigger another event after two weeks where you can choose the gender, personality, and appearance of your child. With that, your child will be born after three weeks after deciding to have a baby.
You can also have multiple babies, but it takes at least one whole year of in-game time to progress before you can have another child.
