We are now living in an age of video game launchers and clients. With every developer releasing its own launcher or client, we now have a brand new launcher and this time it is from Rockstar Games. Although Rockstar Games already had the Social Club client on PC for a long time, the brand new launcher is specifically for purchasing games and launching them directly from the store.
To invite players to its brand new launcher, Rockstar Games is also offering GTA San Andreas free to everyone who downloads and signs up for the client. Everyone who plays GTA V or any previous GTA title on PC would already have a Rockstar Games Social Club account and the brand new launcher also uses the same account details to sign in.
The launcher is still in its pretty early stages and it will add more titles in the future. Along with GTA: San Andreas and GTA V, the launcher currently has L.A. Noire: Complete Edition, Bully: Scholarship Edition, Max Pain 3: Complete Edition, GTA III and GTA Vice City. The titles are all PC versions of the games and since come with all DLCs and expansions released for the titles.
More titles will be added to the launcher in the coming days however it comes with all basic features that a client should have including cloud saves and automatic updates. Apart from this, if you already have classic Rockstar titles installed on your PC, you can scan your system and add them to the launcher to play all Rockstar titles from a single central hub.
In the future, Rockstar Games might incorporate both the Social Club and the new launcher into a single client and have an all-in-one client for all Rockstar games and Social Club activities. Fans are also saying that the new launcher bodes well and it could lead to a potential announcement of Red Dead Redemption 2 coming to PC in the near future.
Whether RDR2 comes to PC or not, Rockstar Games Launcher is yet another new launcher for you to download and install on your PC further adding to the trouble of launching games from different launchers. With Rockstar releasing its own launcher, it is not yet known whether its games will be pulled from Steam or not however that won’t be a wise move because people have spent ages playing Rockstar Games on Steam.
