The Undying King’s Attacks
The Undying King has a variety of attacks, but only gets personal when you exhaust his attacking options or get too close. The first thing he does is summon his companions from both sides of the hall. These soldier looking companion come in 6-8 in a wave.
On top of the soldiers or companions, the Undying King produces two White Orbs on top of him near the platform that shoot projectiles at you. Lastly, the Undying King prefers to slash with his scythes.
Another thing, which is not really his attack, is that he makes his way back towards the throne to heal himself. While he is healing, he also summons more minions and slashing type enemies like the ones you find when fighting Gorefist boss.
How to Defeat The Undying King
Now that you are aware of his attacks, it is best to get a few runs in before you actually attempt to kill this boss. This is so that you can understand the pattern he takes in the battle. From summoning his soldiers, the orbs, scythe attacks, and healing, this will all give you a better understanding of how the battle is going to take place.
Prepare for the battle with a lot of healing items, and enough stamina to run around. Once the battle begins, there are two things that should be your priority, kill off the soldiers, and take out the two white orbs. Once you have done that, start attacking the Undying King with headshots.
When the boss’ health depletes enough, he will go away to heal. His pose will leave him vulnerable, however, you will rarely get a chance to hit one because of the smaller enemies that come in hordes during this time. It is highly advised that you take out the smaller enemies first, and then shoot the Undying King on his head to break the trance and stop the healing process.
After this, the fight repeats all over again with soldiers respawning, the orbs shooting projectiles. In other words, you have to do the same thing again until the Undying King is dead.
Best Weapons
The best weapons you need in this fight is the Hunting Pistol and the Shotgun. You may be wondering why the Hunting Pistol is a good option here, and that is because of the insane headshot damage it deals to the Undying King. Mid-range shots will deal 600+ damage, while close-range shots that land on the head will deal 1000+ damage.
The shotgun is undeniably the all-rounder in the game that is not only consistent in mid-range shots, but also deals a good chunk of damage. In addition, the shotgun is also great to take out the smaller enemies and the soldiers. It also is good to hit the Undying King with the shells, though not as much as the Hunting Pistol.
