Unlock and Upgrade Traits

Traits are essential for your survival as they will grant you numerous bonuses and make you stronger. Try to unlock some better Traits such as the Elder Knowledge early in the game because they will help you unlock the remaining traits much quickly in the game. Upgrade Your Dragon Shard

Your Dragon Shard in vital in Remnant: From the Ashes because it will help you to heal yourself in the game. You will get opportunities in the game to upgrade your Dragon Shard to make it more effective at healing you. You can upgrade your Dragon Shard once you have defeated the second boss in the game. Upgrading your Dragon Shard will allow you to use it more in battles to ensure that you can take some more beating before you die.

Cure Status Effects

Certain enemies in the game will not only deal with physical damage to you but will also put certain status effects on you which will cause additional damage to you over a certain period of time. It is vital that you cure these status effects and make sure that you are always free of status effects because they will slowly trickle down your health and eventually kill you. Status effects that you should look out for are Burning, Bleeding, Root Rot and Infection.

Now, most of these status effects can be cured by certain consumables and healing items but some status effects can only be cured by visiting the checkpoints in the game or other special healing tonics. Burning can be cured by a Hydro Coolant while a bandage will cure Bleeding. Root Rot does affect you directly but if its stacks up enough, it will cause an infection which must be cured with an Oilskin Tonic or by visiting a checkpoint. Make sure that you always yourself free of these harmful status effects.

Always Watch Your Back…and your Top

While fighting enemies, the enemies will not just spawn right in front of you. You must be very careful because sometimes the enemies will spawn behind you and they will attack you from the behind without any warning or signs. They also cause confusion because you will be focused on the enemy at the front and their sudden appearance will cause you to run ahead into the other enemies.

Another place to watch out especially in underground dungeons and basements is the top. Quite often you will find enemies hanging from the top just waiting for you to get close so that they can jump you. In such situations, always look to the top and make sure that the coast is all clear before you move ahead. Hanging enemies are also easy to kill as their heads will be right there and they won’t be moving anywhere unless you get too close.

Explore the Maps Thoroughly

The maps in Remnant: From the Ashes are randomly generated however they are full of loot and enemies for you find, collect and kill. Every time you enter a dungeon, you must ensure that you explore every nook and cranny of the map and try to find every bit of treasure hiding here and there. Exploring each map properly will ensure that you find all secrets the map is hiding and you also go back home full of loot and scrap.

Notice the Changes in Your Crosshair

Your crosshair is more than a simple aiming aid in the game. If you look closely, it will show you a lot more information about different things such as optimum damage range, obstructions and more. If you want to land the shot on the enemy with the maximum possible damage, you should ensure that the crosshair shows a white dot in the middle. This is the best distance to land maximum damage with that weapon at the enemy.

If you move in or out, the white dot will vanish showing you that the distance is not optimal for maximum damage at your current position. Similarly, another aid in your crosshair is the red dot which shows that your current shot will miss the enemy either by some obstacles or very great distance between you and the enemy. Make sure that you use these visual cues to deal maximum damage to your enemies while saving ammo at the same time.

Bring a Friend Along

Remnant: From the Ashes encourages co-op play and comes with certain features that make gameplay much easier in co-op. One of such features is the ability to heal teammates in the battle if someone falls down. This ensures continuous play and less reloads. If you have someone who would like to play the game with you, make sure that you bring them along and play the game in co-op to use the exclusive co-op features.

Keep Plenty of Consumables Handy

You will get plenty of consumables for use in the game and you must ensure that you keep them handy for different scenarios. Make sure that you always have plenty of health potions, ammo boxes, and antidotes that will help you in various scenarios.

Collect Plenty of Scrap

Scrap is vital for your survival in the game and you must try to collect as much scrap as possible. You will find scrap in plenty of locations as you play the game and even the killed enemies will give you scrap.
