Porygon Guide – Pokemon Sword and Shield

Our Pokemon Sword and Shield Porygon Guide details everything that you need to know about finding and evolving Porygon in The Isle of Armor.

How to Find Porygon

Porygon is a late-game Pokemon because you cannot find it in the world anywhere so you cannot just go around and catch it. To add Porygon to your library, you have to first complete the main story of The Isle of Armor. Once the main story is complete and you have successfully beaten Mustard at his own game, head back to the Dojo. Once there, go to the room located on the right side and you will see Porygon there. Speak with Hyde there and learn about the origin of Porygon. Exhaust the dialogue and Hyde will offer you Porygon. This way, you will have Porygon in your Pokemon collection.

How to Evolve Porygon

Porygon comes with two unique evolution forms. One of them is called Porygon2 while the other one is called Porygon-Z. Both these evolutions require trading so let us begin with the process. For the first evolution form Porygon2, you will need an item called Upgrade. You can either craft it at the Cram-o-matic in the Dojo with Big Mushroom, Star Piece, Big Nugget, and Yellow Capricorn.

If you do not have these items or simply want to save the resources, make your way to the Warm Up Tunnel and then go towards Training Lowlands. There is a small area between the cave and the beach. Here you will find some boulders blocking the path and the Upgrade sitting on the ground. Pick it up. For the actual evolution process, find a friend to trade with. Complete the trade and he will send you back Porygon2.

This was for the first evolution for Porygon, for the final evolution form, you will need another item called Dubious Disk. It is sitting on a small patch in the Workout Sea. Look for it in the south section. Once you have it, have your Porygon2 hold it and complete another round of trading with a friend. This time around, your friend will send you back Porygon-Z.
