In this Outriders Classes Guide we will guide you on all the classes that you can play with in Outriders. Outriders is launching on April 1, 2021; however, the developers have released a demo for the title and it comes packed with content for you to try out. You can play as one of the four classes in the game and since each class is unique in the game, it is important to know the strengths and weaknesses of all of the classes in the game. We have curated this Outriders Classes Guide that will detail all of the classes in the game for you.
Classes Guide – Outriders
Our Outriders Classes Guide details everything that you need to know about all of the classes in Outriders and how to play with them. Please note that Outriders is only available in its free demo form at this point, so all data is taken from the demo. We will update this guide with additional details once the full game is out in April 2021.
There are four classes in Outriders which include:
- Trickster
- Pyromancer
- Technomancer
- Devastator
All four of these classes come with their own unique attributes, strengths, Skill Trees, and weaknesses. All four classes come with their own unique Class Trait and Healing mechanic. Apart from this, all classes in the game also come with three class trees that allow you to further customize your build and have them play according to your very own playstyle. These can be upgraded using class points. Each class also has eight abilities that will be available to them in the full game however for the demo, we only have one of these abilities available to each of the classes. We have given you an overview of all four classes below for you. We will later post a detailed guide on how you can play with each of these classes more effectively.
Trickster
Trickster is a class best suited for players who love hit-and-run combat and also prefer to get up close and personal with their enemies. It performs best at close-range so can easily surprise your enemies and kill them quickly at close range while using the Trickster class. Tricksters can also manipulate space and time so it is fairly easy for this class to get close to enemies and quickly blast them with high-powered weapons.
The Trickster class comes with the unique Class Trait of 15% Damage Mitigation. This is only available to you when your shield is active which means that you can quickly get in and kill your enemies and as long as your shields are active, you will take 15% less damage in the game. Apart from this, the class trait also grants you 20% health and 12% shield back every time you kill an enemy at close range. Apart from this, Trickster also has a unique healing mechanic.
While playing as a Trickster, every time you kill an enemy at closed range, you will gain somewhat of your health and shield back. Coming to the Class Trees of the Trickster, you have Master of Space. It is for making your weapons more effective at close range. The second one is called Harbinger and it increases the effectiveness of your shield. The last one is called Assassin and it revolves around making your character more effective at killing enemies with weapons and power.
Coming to the abilities available to the Trickster in the demo, you have access to Temporal Slice which is a great ability. This skill can easily interrupt your enemies while dealing damage to them at the same time. Upon activation, this ability will slice and paralyze all of the enemies in front of you causing damage to them and interrupting their attacks at the same time. Players who prefer close-range damage dealing and want to get in and get out after making your kills, this Trickster class is going to do miracles for you.
Pyromancer
If you love playing with fire and setting your enemies on fire then the Pyromancer class is for you. Stepping up from the Trickster, the Pyromancer is best for medium-range combat and excels at medium-range. The Pyromancer’s unique Class Trait grants them a 15% bonus health bonus and 10% ability power bonus which means that they can stay in the action for longer and deal additional damage as well. In addition, damaged enemies are marked for 15 seconds and if you kill one of these marked enemies, you will get 24% of your health back.
Coming to the healing mechanic of the Pyromancer, every time an enemy marked by you are killed, whether by you or anyone else, you will get about a quarter of your health back each time so you can really go crazy with your fire and burn as many enemies as you can find in the game. Pyromancer also has three Skill Trees each one focusing on a unique aspect of the character. First off, you have Ruler of Ashes which is about combining weapons with your Anomaly Power.
Scorcher Skill Tree will increase all your fire-based attacks and cause them to land more damage to your enemies. The last skill tree of Pyromancer is called Tempest and it helps you apply status effects to your enemies easily causing even more mayhem during combat. Coming to the abilities, the Pyromancer has the ability Heatwave unlocked in the demo that you can use in the game. Heatwave is a special ability that sends a wave-form attack towards the enemies that burns and deals damage to the enemies at the same time.
If anyone steps on this attack or comes in the way of this fiery wave, they also get damaged and can catch fire causing them to burn up over time. It is good for taking out particular targets but might not be very effective in crowd-control like the Trickster’s Temporal Slice. Boiling down to the basics, if you prefer middle-ranged combat and want to burn your enemies using fire and even controlling the battlefield with your weapons, you can use go for the Pyromancer class.
Technomancer
The Technomancer is the ultimate support class in the game. The Technomancer is the only class in the game that excels at long-range combat and also the only class in the game that can heal other players as well. Apart from this, the Technomancer can also place down deadly traps and contraptions to ensure that he cannot be sneaked upon while he is taking down enemies from afar. However, because of all this, the Technomancer is also the weakest class in the game and he needs constant protection from the rest of the team. Because of his weakness, he stays at the back, hits hard, heals his team however he can be easily killed which is where the rest of the team comes into play.
The Technomancer’s Class Trait grants him a bonus long-range damage of 7.5% making his shots even deadlier. Apart from boosting his damage, his Life Leech is also increased by 15% allowing him to recover even more health. A 15% life leech bonus is also applied to the Technomaner’s weapons, making him the ultimate long-range bruiser. All of this stacks up with the Technomancer’s healing mechanic which allows him to recover back a part of all of the damage that you deal to your enemies. This combines to deliver a character that is healing and killing at all times however if enemies focus fire at him, he cannot survive for longer so this is why he has to stick to the far back of the action.
Coming to this class’s skill tree, you have three trees out of which the very first one is called the Pestilence that focuses on increasing your firepower while making your healing from kills even more effective. Next, we have Tech Shaman which focuses on increasing your health and your resistance to all damage gained in the game. Finally, we have Demolisher which reduces the cooldowns of all your ordinance powers and makes your Anomaly powers, more powerful in the game. You can invest points in the skill tree that best matches your style and complement the class’s main strengths.
Out of the eight unique abilities for this particular class, you have access to one of his abilities which allows you to deal damage and interrupting any sort of attacks. Upon landing the attack, you will throw a proximity device on the map, and everyone caught in the radius of the device’s explosion will deal damage to the enemies and interrupt their skills no matter how powerful they are. This is excellent for crowd control and brilliant for disorienting your enemies and then taking them out quickly with your long-ranged weapons. The Technomancer is the ultimate support class in the game and if you prefer long-ranged combat and traps, then this class should be your choice however be prepared for healing your teammates as well on the go.
Devastator
If you prefer playing as a tank and damage-absorbing build, then the Devastator should be your class of choice. Starting with the class’s Class Trait, every time you kill an enemy, you get 24 health back so the more enemies you kill, the more health you can regenerate back in the game for your character. This encourages staying in action and taking on more enemies as you take the full brunt of fights at the frontlines. Devastator also prefers close-ranged combat so you are all set for close encounters by dealing maximum damage and equally good healing capabilities. Apart from this, you also get a 25% maximum health bonus and a 30% armor bonus. The additional health and armor come in great use while you are soaking up all the damage.
Staying close to your enemies grants you another bonus which is the Devastator’s healing mechanic as well. Every enemy killed close to you will give you bonus health and heal you. The more enemies killed close to you, the more health you gain in the battle. Combining all of the above gives you a solid tank class, one that can withstand tons of punishment and still stand tall at the end of the battle eager for more battler. Coming to the Skill Trees of the Devastator, just like the previous classes, you have three options to choose from here as well.
Starting with the Entangler, this Skill Tree is all about increasing your weapon damage and granting you additional armor. The second Skill Tree is called Warden which focuses on additional health and increasing your resistance against damage. Finally, you have Seismic Shifter that enhances the power of all of the anomalies available to the Devastator. It greatly increases the damage that you can dish out in combat. Coming to the abilities, the Devastator class has the ability Earthquake available to him in the demo.
This powerful ability can interrupt any sort of enemies and deal damage as it sends out a powerful shockwave right in front of you. This is great for taking out enemies who are right in front of you. Summarizing the Devastator class, this is the ultimate tank class as it comes with massive health regeneration, lots of damage to dish out, and the ability to jump in front of your allies and protecting them from damage while taking down enemies with your powerful attacks.
Choosing the Best Class in Outriders
As far as I have seen from my experience in the demo of Outriders, there is no best class in the game. It all boils down to your playstyle and likeness to these classes. Every class in unique in the game and caters to a different playstyle. Even after picking a basic class, you have three Skill Trees for every class to further customize how they play out and how each skill changes the gameplay of each class further.
I will say that since it is only available in the demo at this point and there are only four classes in the game, it is fairly simple to try out all four of them and then choose your favorite class. The demo is not timed, and it even has some post-story content that you can play again and again until the full game arrives. Make sure that you spend some time with each class in the game and try their attacks, abilities, weapons, and other skills and only then pick your favorite one.
