Red Art Games has announced that it will be publishing Nuclear Blaze, the new title by Sébastien Bénard. Sébastien Bénard is the creator behind the critically and publicly acclaimed title Dead Cells which is considered one of the best roguelike games in the world. Nuclear Blaze will release on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One and the console port of the game will be done by Red Art Games.
At this point, Red Art Games has only announced a digital release across the consoles however a physical release is definitely possible and additional details about it will be revealed at a later date. Nuclear Blaze will be a dynamic 2D action game in which players will assume the role of an experienced firefighter dropped in the middle of a massive fire. Apart from keeping the fire under control with your trusty hose, you will also need to investigate the cause of the catastrophe. You will rely on smooth controls and tight gameplay mechanics developed by Sébastien Bénard who says:
Working with Red Art Games truly was a great pleasure. I know full well that this is what everybody is expecting to read in a press release but in this case, the team put in some meticulous and high-quality work, which made the console port of Nuclear Blaze possible.
Unfortunately, we did not get to see a new trailer yet however the game was available last week at Gamescom 2022, and players were able to try out a small slice of the game. During the official press release, the publisher also revealed that Nuclear Blaze will also come with a special Kid Mode which is created with younger players (aged 3 and up) in mind. This mode comes with its own easier levels, a hero that never dies, and simplified controls with auto-aim. For hardcore gamers, the game will include a ‘Hold my Beer’ mode which adds additional threats to each level and also hidden areas in all levels.
All of this content will be available in Nuclear Blaze right at launch. Key features of the game include:
- Unique 2D firefighting game
- Smooth controls and gameplay mechanics
- Beautiful pixel art graphics
- Finely tuned difficulty settings
- Kid Mode with special levels and controls created for younger players
- “Hold my Beer” Mode adding hidden areas as well as new threats and tactical elements
- Hidden cats to save
